Fiberglass holds up well against UV and doesn't lose structural integrity from repeated wet/dry cycles, but gel coat can chalk or crack over years of sun exposure and needs occasional polishing or patch repair if impacted. Well-maintained fiberglass slides commonly last 10+ years with minimal material degradation — the main cost driver is the upfront unit and installation labor, not ongoing repairs.
