Commercial Inflatable Obstacle Courses — High-Throughput Event Rentals
Obstacle courses are the highest-revenue inflatable category for corporate events, school field days, and fun runs. A 40ft commercial obstacle course rented at $400–$600 per event processes 50–80 participants per hour — no other inflatable type matches that throughput. We manufacture blow up obstacle courses from 30ft sprint lanes to 100ft+ multi-section courses, all built for daily rental use.
Course Lengths and Concurrent Participants
| Course Length | Sections | Concurrent Runners | Throughput/Hour | Typical Rental Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30–40 ft | 2–3 | 2 (head-to-head) | 40–60 | $300–$450 |
| 50–65 ft | 3–4 | 2–4 | 60–80 | $450–$600 |
| 80–100+ ft | 5–7 | 4–6 | 80–120 | $600–$900 |
Head-to-head racing lanes are standard on most models. Participants run, climb, crawl through tunnels, scramble over walls, and slide to the finish. The competitive format keeps lines moving and crowds engaged — event organizers consistently rank obstacle courses as their top-performing rental.
Dry and Water Obstacle Courses
Most of our inflatable obstacle courses come in dry/wet dual-use configurations. In dry mode, they run year-round for indoor and outdoor events. Add a garden hose connection and they convert to water obstacle courses for summer festivals, pool parties, and outdoor corporate events. The water option adds a splash element to the slide sections and keeps participants cool — a major draw in hot-weather markets.
Dedicated water obstacle courses with built-in spray bars and splash pools are also available for operators focused on summer seasonal inventory.
Setup Requirements
- Space: Course length plus 8–10 ft clearance at each end and 6 ft on each side. A 40ft course needs roughly 60×25 ft of flat ground.
- Setup crew: 2 people for 30–40 ft courses (20 min setup). 3–4 people for 80ft+ courses (30–45 min).
- Power: Most courses need 2 blowers (one per section). Run each on a dedicated 15A circuit. Longer courses (80ft+) may need 3 blowers.
- Anchoring: Stakes on grass, sandbags on hard surfaces. Obstacle courses generate more lateral movement than bouncers — use minimum 18-inch stakes at every anchor point.
ROI for Rental Operators
Obstacle courses command premium rental rates because they serve markets that standard bounce houses can't reach. Corporate team-building events pay $500–$900 for a half-day obstacle course rental. School field days book 2–3 courses at once for multi-lane racing. Fun run organizers rent 100ft+ courses for entire weekends.
A $2,500 obstacle course generating 2 rentals per weekend at $500 average pays back in under 3 months. Pair with water slides and combo units for full-event packages that drive $1,500+ single-day bookings.
Construction and Accessories
All obstacle courses use 18oz PVC vinyl with reinforced climb walls, tunnel sections, and slide lanes. Internal baffles maintain shape under heavy use. Finger-safe mesh panels on openings prevent pinch injuries. Every unit meets CE, EN14960, and ASTM F2374 safety standards.
Browse our accessories catalog for replacement blowers, anchor kits, and repair supplies. Adult inflatable obstacle courses feature higher walls, wider tunnels, and reinforced platforms rated for riders up to 250 lbs each.
